Mostly full-page format, without a framing. With commentaries at the back sides (Swedish Language). Photographs with some minor crinkles at corners and little rubbing. Partly a bit faded at the edges but mostly still with good contrasts. Paper is a bit bent. ÜBER IHR INTERESSE AN UNSEREN SELTENEN OBJEKTEN WÜRDEN WIR UNS WIE IMMER FREUEN-############### The thirteen photographs include different views on the former copper smelting town Hadley at the Prince of Wales Island (Alaska, US). In Hadley once the mined copper ores have been melted and processed, later the extracted copper was shipped to other places. The photographs exist in three different formats: a small one (ca. 16,4 x 21,5 cm), a middle size (ca. 19,1 x 24,1 cm) and a bigger format (ca. 20 x 25,2 cm). The black-white photographs still own their contrast although a few of them are fading a little bit at the edges. The thirteen photographs give us very different perspectives on this historical place: smelter buildings seen from the near and distanced overviews from a ship. Detailled views on the pier with rails, on a building in construction (in snow), on a ship at the pier and on a cleared piece of land probably for new buildings. One photograph is even showing one of the ships (for travelling) called "Marion". A main overview owns a small stamp and note at the front: "Alaska Smelting & Refining Co. / General View Smelter Buildings". Most of the photographs own commentaries on the back sides in swedish language. Some with two or three lines, a few with ten lines of text (Please see the given fotografic examples). The photographs very probably have been made by a swedish engineer working at Hadley. There has been copper mining and extracting in Sweden long before Alaska became a part of the US. One photograph shows two little girls with blond hair staying in the wood. It seems to be a family portrait, maybe they have been the daughters of this swedish man. There is also an envelope (newer one by Svenska Handelsbanken) with the handwritten swedish title: "Fotografier fran Hadley Alaska". Very rare historical material from Alaska in the first two decades of the 20th century!

Das ebenfalls als Photoreproduktion eingangs montierte Titelblatt zeigt folgenden Titel: "Small Pike - Erotisches Potpourri. Opern und Operetten". Es handelt sich offenbar um eine privat angelegte Sammlung von fotografischen Reproduktionen erotischer Zeichnungen aus dem weiten Feld der Operngeschichte. Hinter dem Pseudonym Small Pike scheint der tschechische Künstler Jarka Stika zu stehen, der diese erotischen Motive mitunter in den 1930er Jahren als Radierung angefertigt hatte. Hier scheint es sich um ein privat angelegtes Album mit Reproduktionen dieser erotischen Skizzen zu handeln. Zur Entstehung angegeben wurde auf dem Titelblatt: "Prag 1958". Ob dies auch der Entstehungszeit des Albums und seiner Photos entspricht lässt sich nicht bestätigen, ist aber wahrscheinlich weil auch die Reproduktionen keineswegs neueren Datums sind. Die Reproduktionen wurden fest montiert und tragen im unteren Bildbereich jeweils eine deutschsprachige Bildunterschrift. Nur die letzten Reproduktionen sind lose eingelegt worden. Das verwendete Papier des Albums trägt eingangs das Wasserzeichen "Flinsch Doosmühle 1597". Die Bildunterschriften tragen Titel wie: "Der Rosenkavalier", "Carmen", "Zar und Zimmermann", "Don Quichote", "Leichte Kavallerie", "Die Stumme von Portici", "Die Regimentstocher" und viele weitere. Auf den ersten Seiten wurde jeweils am oberen Rand etwas überklebt, womöglich waren dort weitere Informationen notiert. Seltenes Album mit erotischen Szenen aus der Opern- und Operettenwelt! / The privately bound album contains 76 photo reproductions of erotical scenes in the format of 23.7 x 18 cm. The title page, also mounted as a photo reproduction at the beginning, shows the following title: "Small Pike - Erotic Potpourri. Operas and Operettas". It appears to be a private collection of photographic reproductions of erotic drawings from the wide field of opera history. Behind the pseudonym Small Pike seems to be the czech artist Jarka Stika who created erotic motifs like these as etchings in the 1930s. The title page give the information “Prague 1958” concerning the book. It is not possible to determine whether this also corresponds to the time when the album was created but it is likely since the reproductions are also older ones. The reproductions have been mounted and each one has a german-language caption in the lower edge of the picture. Only the last reproductions have been inserted loosely. The paper used in the album has a watermark at the beginning: "Flinsch Doosmühle 1597". The captions have titles such as: "Der Rosenkavalier", "Carmen", "Zar und Zimmermann", "Don Quichote", "Leichte Kavallerie", "Die Stumme von Portici", "Die Regimentstocher" and many others. On the first few pages something was pasted over at the top edge, further information may have been noted there. Rare album with erotic scenes from the world of opera and operetta!

ÜBER IHR INTERESSE AN UNSEREN SELTENEN OBJEKTEN WÜRDEN WIR UNS WIE IMMER FREUEN-############### The nine photographs include different views on the former copper smelting town Hadley at the Prince of Wales Island (Alaska, US). In Hadley once the mined copper ores have been melted and processed, later the extracted copper was shipped to other places. The photographs exist in three different formats: a small one (ca. 16,4 x 21,5 cm), a middle size (ca. 19,1 x 24,1 cm) and a bigger format (ca. 20 x 25,2 cm). The black-white photographs still own their contrast although few of them are fading a bit at the edges. The photographs are giving us different perspectives on this place: smelter buildings seen from the near and distanced overviews from a ship. One photograph is even showing a smelter building from the inside. A few others show the nature and waters around the town. We also can see the small pier where once the copper has been prepared for shipping. The main overview owns a small stamp and note at the front: "Alaska Smelting & Refining Co. / General View of Hadley Smelter". A few others own a small note on their back side (english language). A photograph showing the waterways around the town for example is titled: "'Hole in the wall' by Hadley, Alaska". Another one was titled: "View to the north from waterbank showing boilerstacks and wharfes". The photographs very probably have been made by a swedish engineer working at Hadley. Other photographs from the same collection (second offer) own a lot of swedish notes and commentaries at their back sides and contain some more private views. Very rare historical material from Alaska in the first two decades of the 20th century!
