To make the book as accessible as possible to first-year graduate students, the author introduces the simplifying method of vector notation, and vector and tensor notation are developed as an integral part of the first few chapters. Part I provides a theoretical background to fluid flow, as well as introducing the equations of change and the various flux vectors of transport theory, and culminates in the derivation of the Navier-Stokes equations. Part II focuses on standard applications of the flow equations: inviscid flows, exact and boundary-layer solutions of the laminar-flow equations, integral methods, dimensional analysis and one-dimensional compressible flow. Part III, comprising the major portion of the book, covers phenomenological and statistical theories of turbulence, non-Newtonian phenomena and multiphase flow. Through his bold and colorful style, Don Sullivan's wildly humorous illustrations bring the underwater world of Max and his friends to vivid life. Rezension: I bought this book for my 15 month old granddaughter while we were on vacation in Arizona. She is 20 months old now and can recognize all the characters. The story is adorable and the illustrations are sublime. She loves the colors and the expressions on the creatures faces.....especially Sharky. I have to read it every night to her and she is always as attentive as the first time. The bulging, wiggly eyes make the book a wonderful picture book for a baby and the prose is delightful. Rezension: My son received this book as a gift when he was five months old and has listened and giggled to it every night for four months since. The rhyme scheme and exciting illustrations entertain him even during his most fussy times. At first, he focused mostly on the wiggling, googly eyes on every page, but now he studies all the other bright pictures and laughs at the funny faces on the characters. I have the book memorized but never tire of reading it because he enjoys it so much. The only downside...the book is not designed for toddlers to grab...we're on our second copy and now hold it well out of his reach. Also, it might be a little scary for kids who are easily frightened...Max barely avoids becoming a toothy shark's dinner. Rezension: I purchased this book for my childrens library at school and the kids there fell in love with it. Even younger children are so intrigued by the googly eyes in the book that they don't even realize they are learning while being read to or reading on thier own. I plan on purchasing some of the other books which are similar. Great job. 27 ISBN: 9780939251957

Ages: 2 - 6 Review: this is such a cute book. it is my 3 year old daughters favorite. the illustrations are adorable. the book makes my daughter laugh. some nights if she's tired, the book will put her to sleep because it talks about each of the 5 ducks getting tired and closing their eyes and falling asleep 1 by 1. the story is cute and goes through all the things the little ducklings find scary that are stopping them from sleep. it shows how each of the things the little ducks find scary are actually innocent little things like wind through the reeds or an owl or the shadow of a tree. the best part of all for me is that the story is in english and spanish. it is a wonderful opportunity for my daughter to hear spanish. even though i don't speak spanish. the spanish in the book is easy enough that i can read it even though i don't know what it means (although through reading it so many times and following it up with the english, i am starting to learn some of the spanish as well.) after reading the spanish on each page i then read the english. this is great as my daughter is exposed to the spanish. she is taking spanish in school and reading this story every night helps her get used to spanish. i can't say enough about this book by lauren thompson. every kid should be able to have fun with this book. the book originally came with cheerios. i wish so much that you could buy it and the other little quack books that were put out by cheerios, but unfortunately i have looked everywhere and the only way to get these books is to buy them from someone who got them when cheerios gave them out with their cereal. 30 ISBN: 9781416941149

Rezension: We've been reading the novel in school and I found it to be such a great book I ordered one for myself! I couldn't put it down it's just so mysterious and you never know what's going to happen next! And the book just keeps getting a little weirder and more mysterious the more you read on! It's a great book I would suggest anybody read this book. Rezension: I thought this was a great book. It had a lot of mystery in it which I rarely ever read. It's about two friends that go on a hiking trip and never come home. After the families had agreed to end the search party, a man calls the Drayfus household to tell them that their son owed him a lot of money. This particular chapter is a critical one because that is when it takes a complete turn around. This book contains a lot of fears and mystery which makes it great I highly recommend it.
