With old hand notes inside. ##############-WIR MACHEN EINE FRÜHLINGSAKTION MIT 25 PROZENT AUF DEN GANZEN BESTAND BIS ZUM 31.05. ÜBER IHR INTERESSE AN UNSEREN SELTENEN OBJEKTEN WÜRDEN WIR UNS WIE IMMER FREUEN-############### Der Band enthält ein gestochenes Frontispiz-Porträt und gestochenen Titel mit Landschafts-Vignette, beide etwas stockfleckig. Auf dem Vortitel montiert hatte der Bucheigner insgesamt 4 handschriftliche Original-Briefe von Herbert „Herbie" Coleridge (7. Oktober 1830 - 23. April 1861), dem bedeutenden englischen Philologen. Die Briefe sind datiert auf 23. November 1859, 26. November 1859, 22. Februar 1860 und März 1860) und stammen damit aus den Jahren vor seinem Tod. Die Briefe sind jeweils doppelseitig und haben das Format 17,5 x 11,5 cm. In seinen Briefen geht Coleridge mehrfach auf die Edition der "Works" ein. Der zeitgenössische Bucheigner hatte hier scheinbar seine thematisch einschlägige Korrespondenz mit dem bedeutenden Philologen in das Buch montiert. Die Briefe enthalten die Absenderadresse in Hampstead (London), der Empfänger ist nicht zu ermitteln. 4 Original-Briefe des englischen Philologen Herbert Coleridge! /// The volume includes an engraved frontispiece portrait and an engraved title with landscape vignette, both slightly foxed. The owner of the book mounted 4 original handwritten letters from Herbert "Herbie" Coleridge (October 7, 1830 - April 23, 1861) inside. The letters are dated November 23, 1859; November 26, 1859; February 22, 1860 and March 1860. The letters are each double-sided and have a format of 17.5 x 11.5 cm. In his letters Coleridge writes about the edition of the "Works". The letters contain the sender address in Hampstead (London), the recipient cannot be determined. 4 original letters from the English philologist Herbert Coleridge!

Das Buch stammt aus einem Verlag in Frankfurt am Main und wurde angesichts der Tintenflecke in den Jahren vor 1933 offensichtlich auch zum Lernen verwendet. Es enthält 10 einseitig bedruckte Tafeln mit dem hebräischen Alphabet - 7 Seiten mit jeweils 4 Buchstaben, 3 Seiten mit jeweils 2 Buchstaben. Die Buchstaben sind ornamental gerahmt, gezeichnet von Jacob Apter. In einer Buchtasche im Anhang sind weitere Tafeln als lose Buchstabenkarten zum Selbstlernen und Kombinieren der Buchstaben enthalten. Am Ende des Buches wurden auch Hinweise zum Verwenden der Buchstaben-Karten abgedruckt (siehe unser Foto anbei). Höchst seltene Archivalie aus dem Deutschland der Zwischenkriegszeit und vor Emigration und Vernichtung der deutschen Juden! / Historical textbook for Jewish children to learn Hebrew. The book comes from a publisher in Frankfurt am Main and, given the ink stains, was obviously used for learning in the years before 1933. It contains 10 single-sided printed pages with the Hebrew alphabet - 7 pages with 4 letters each, 3 pages with 2 letters each. The letters are ornamentally framed, drawn by Jacob Apter. A book bag in the appendix contains additional boards as loose letter cards for self-learning and combining the letters. Instructions for using the letter cards were also printed at the end of the book (see our photo attached). Extremely rare textbook from Jewish Culture in Germany from 1922 before the emigration and extermination of German Jews!

This is not the letters of the explorer of the same name, but rather, the Scottish man of letters who wrote literary criticism, traveled to exotic locales and was a central figure at Oxford University in his day. All in all satisfying condition in spite of slight foxing, very readable and interesting, including his trip to Baghdad in April, 1922. --- 16 x 23 Cm. 1,7 Kg.

Government Botanist of Victoria for 43 years until his death in 1896, he was Australia`s greatest scientist of the 19th century - a major contributor to international science, an intrepid explorer of parts of Australia previously unknown to Europeans, and a dominant figure in the scientific and intellectual life of his adopted country. Throughout his working life, Mueller kept up an enormous correspondence. Large numbers of letters by or to him have been located throughout the world, and edited for publication. These constitute a major new research tool for both Australian historians and historians of science. They are also of fundamental importance to Australian taxonomic botany, for Mueller introduced vast numbers of Australian plants to western science. This is the third and final volume of Mueller`s selected correspondence.
